Choosing and costing Choosing and costing

What Dynamics 365 Business Central costs in Australia.

Quotes for the same Business Central project can differ threefold. That is rarely because one partner is cheating: it is because they priced different projects. Here is how the number is built, so you can compare quotes properly.

The five cost lines

Every Dynamics 365 programme has the same five lines. A quote that hides one of them is not cheaper, it is incomplete.

Licences: per user, per month, set by Microsoft and bought through a partner. Essentials, Premium and Team Member users are priced differently, and add-on apps are priced by their vendor.
Implementation: discovery, design, configuration, testing and go-live, usually the largest line.
Data migration: cleansing, mapping, loading and reconciling. Scope depends on how much history you bring.
Integration and extension: connections to banks, payroll, e-commerce, EDI and tax authorities, plus any custom functionality.
Training and support: role-based training, hypercare after go-live, and an ongoing support or managed-service agreement.

What moves the number

These drivers account for most of the difference between a small and a large programme.

Number and type of users
Number of legal entities and currencies
Integrations and their complexity
Amount of data and history to migrate
Gaps against standard (the fit-gap)
Reporting and compliance requirements
Internal availability: a slow decision loop costs money on both sides

Why we do not publish a single price

Because the price list would be fiction. We publish the model and the drivers, then price the work after a discovery workshop that tests your processes against standard Dynamics 365. A fit-gap that finds few gaps produces a smaller, cheaper project; one that finds many produces a larger one, and you should know which you are in before you sign.

How to compare partner quotes

Ask each partner the same five questions.

What assumptions about users, entities and integrations are in the price?
How many days of discovery and design are included, and what do they produce?
What is excluded: data migration, training, hypercare, extensions?
How are changes to scope priced and approved?
What does support cost after go-live, and what response times are committed?

Exchange rate and licensing

Microsoft licence pricing is set by Microsoft and varies by programme and currency. Your licence cost will be quoted in Australian dollars through the licensing programme we use, and we explain what applies to your organisation, including any eligible discounts, in the quote.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Business Central implementation cost in Australia?

It depends on users, entities, integrations, data migration and gaps against standard. We do not quote a single number because it would mislead; a discovery workshop turns your processes into a scoped quote.

What is the licence cost per user?

Microsoft sets per-user monthly pricing by licence type (for example Essentials, Premium and Team Member). We quote the current Australian-dollar price in your proposal.

Is there a fixed-price option?

We scope work in phases and can fix the price of defined phases once the scope is agreed, with change control for anything outside it.

What does support cost after go-live?

It depends on the service tier, response times and how many users and entities we support. We publish the support tiers and agree one with you in the proposal.
