Start with what you are buying
You are not buying software; Microsoft sells that. You are buying a team's judgement about your processes, their discipline in configuring and testing, and their willingness to say no to scope that will hurt you in a year. The twelve questions below are ordered from credentials to behaviour.
Credentials and capability
Verify rather than accept.
References and comparable work
References tell you more than case studies.
Method and scope
A good partner makes the unknowns visible early.
After go-live
Support is where the relationship is tested.
A note on our own answers
We ask clients to hold us to these too. Our delivery record is in Africa and Europe, and our Australian address is in Victoria; we are a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Business Applications. If an Australian reference is a requirement for you, ask us and we will say plainly whether we can meet it. What we can offer is a scoped discovery workshop, so you judge the fit on your own processes before committing to a programme.
Frequently asked questions
How many Dynamics 365 partners should I shortlist?
Two or three is enough. More than that makes the comparison shallow and slows your own decision.
Should I pick the cheapest quote?
Compare scope before price. Quotes differ because partners price different projects; use the same five questions on each.
Is a local office important?
It matters less than the team's experience on comparable work. Clarify how delivery, workshops and support work in practice.
